Celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich, one of the nation’s favorite Italian cooks. will be appearing in the Bay Area — with her newest cookbook (and its 100-plus recipes) in tow.
Bastianich, a restaurateur who has been teaching cooking via television to Americans since 1998, will meet fans and sign copies of “Lidia’s: From Our Family to Yours” on Friday, Oct. 20, in Santa Clara and Saturday, Oct. 21, in San Mateo.
Friday’s event at Eataly at Westfield Valley Fair will run from noon to 2 p.m. in La Scuola on the second floor. As of noon Thursday, spaces also were still open for a four-course $175 Friday evening dinner with Bastianich (price includes cookbook, paired wines).

In the North Bay, a Book Passage event and meal with Bastianich in San Anselmo, set for midday Saturday, is sold out and waitlisted.
Bastianich, the host of “Lidia’s Kitchen” show on PBS, is the author of 15 other cookbooks. She co-wrote this latest one with her daughter, Tanya Bastianich Manuali.
