/ Rollati Ristorante, downtown San Jose: Italian-American standards from the parent company of the Left Bank chain. Candidates for signature dish include rabbit agrodolce and a lasagna that’s seared after baking.

/ Copita, San Jose’s Willow Glen: “Modern Mexican” food and tequila in celebrity chef Joanne Weir’s rooftop restaurant.

/ Tasting House, Los Gatos: Not technically new, but the wine bistro has reopened with a new chef and a new menu and live music nightly.

/ Barbayani Taverna, Los Altos: Greek restaurant with patio dining, from the owner of the Austrian Naschmarkt restaurants.

/ Hummus Mediterranean Kitchen, Stanford Shopping Center: Turkish Mediterranean favorites with late night and outdoor dining.

/ Burdell, Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood: Fine-dining soul food from Geoff Davis, a veteran of James Syhabout’s The Dock and the Michelin-starred Cyrus. Standout dishes include barbecue white shrimp and blackened black cod over creamed sweet-corn grits.

/ Jerusalem Coffee House, Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood: An intriguing menu of drinks — fizzy cardamom-infused bebsi, date-tahini latte — will soon be accompanied by small bites.

/ Flores, Emeryville: The third outpost of a Mexican restaurant that was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand. “Hyperlocal Mexican cuisine” includes big-eye tuna tostadas with chipotle aioli and chicken tinga tacos.

/ Bill & Bali’s Pizza & Pints, Walnut Creek: The cousins who run Hops & Scotch have branched out with a family-friendly pizzeria.

/ Sultan’s Kebab and Falafel, Danville: The former owner of Menlo Park’s Galata Bistro has picked up his restaurateur father’s legacy in the Tri-Valley.

/ Taj Mahal, Livermore: Indian fine dining, including tandoor dishes, at Republic Square.

/ Fat Chance Food Hall, Livermore: “Food for every mood” concept brings together menus of Murder Burger, Pimp My Ramen and chicken specialist Plucked.

• On the closure list: Slainte and Ale Industries in Oakland, Brown Chicken Brown Cow in Campbell.
