SAN LEANDRO — A woman was shot and killed outside of a Chili’s restaurant Saturday afternoon, and police said they were “actively” searching for the suspect.

The woman, who has not been publicly named, was shot and killed around 2:45 p.m. in the restaurant parking lot at Bayfair Center, 15555 East 14th Street, police said. She died in the parking lot, despite lifesaving efforts by paramedics.

Police say they’ve already identified a suspect and are making efforts to locate that person, who has not been identified by name, age or gender. The victim and the suspect knew one another and argued before the shooting, authorities said.

It was the third homicide in the Bayfair parking lot since mid-September. Police say the two other victims were shot 10 days apart by one man.
