OAKLAND — The death of a man found Friday morning in East Oakland is being investigated as an apparent homicide, authorities said.
Police have not yet released the man’s name or said where he lived. He appeared to be in his 50s.
He was found shortly after 9 a.m. Friday outside in the 1400 block of 79th Avenue near Alder Street, a residential are north of International Boulevard.
There was major trauma on the man’s body and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, authorities said.
An autopsy will be performed to confirm the actual cause of death.
Police have not determined a possible motive and have not announced any arrests.
