As busy as things get at the end of summer, we’re excited to share a heartwarming update on the impact of your generous gifts to LifeMoves through the Mercury News Wish Book. Your contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of individuals, veterans, and families facing homelessness. Empowering Families at Haven Family House
Thanks to your generosity, LifeMoves has been able to support 23 families, including nine veterans as the head of households, at the Haven Family House in Menlo Park. From October 2022 to March 2023, LifeMoves provided case management support to 32 households at Haven Family House. Among them, 15 were veterans leading their families towards stability. During this period, 61 children and 58 adults received the crucial assistance they needed.
Danny and Jen’s Journey to Sobriety
Your support has not only provided essential resources but has also fostered meaningful connections between family members. Danny, after being featured in the San Jose Mercury News, received a heartfelt call from his father expressing pride in Danny and Jen’s sobriety journey and their dedication to helping others. This phone call held significant personal value, illustrating the power of compassion and kindness in healing relationships.
The Power of Resilience: Cassidy’s Triumph
Cassidy and her daughters experienced a life-changing journey during their stay at Haven Family House. Working full-time, Cassidy saved money while her daughters received nurturing educational support. Through extensive case management services, Cassidy achieved her goal of self-sufficiency, moving to her own home in Millbrae. The resources and therapy provided by LifeMoves helped her overcome the trauma of homelessness, empowering her to build a better future for her family.
